Gastronomy: Welcome to Camp Bernhards, where bistro chic and lake charm merge into an authentic concept.
Cozy seats with a view of the lake, warm earth tones and natural materials contribute to an ambience in which you can only feel good. We look forward to giving you a pleasant time with us and wish you bon appétit at Camp Bernhards on the beautiful lake pond in Waldernbach/Mengerskirchen. Where the Westerwald melts in your mouth:
At the latest when a dish from the lovingly compiled menu is served, you feel you have fully arrived. The cuisine at Camp Bernhards is varied and sustainable.
Meat lovers get their money’s worth here, as do fans of light or vegetarian cuisine. Because we make a lot of things ourselves and rely on regional produce, our guests can literally let the Westerwald melt in their mouths. In addition, national and international delicacies invite you to discover new flavors.

Landscape/Panorama: The Wäller Camp is located in the Hessian Westerwald between the culturally historic old towns of Limburg and Wetzlar (formerly the Principality of Nassau) on Hesse’s oldest reservoir (the Seeweiher). Surrounded by picturesque countryside right by the lake, it’s the perfect place to unwind and escape from everyday life.
Camping with dog: The site has plenty to offer dogs and their owners. 2 lake entrances for the 4-legged friends, dog free run on the CP, dog shower as well as appropriate dog excrement dispensers and waste garbage cans are a matter of course in the Wäller Camp. The circular route around the lake (30-45 min) is perfect for a walk and can be reached directly from the campsite.
Insider tip: In 2021, we took over the very dilapidated permanent campsite and turned it around within 3 years. Infrastructure, digitalization, bathhouses, the facility was completely renovated and is considered a lighthouse project in Hesse. At Landyachting, we are already listed among the Excellent Places, and the Hessenschau and Friso Richtiger have also been our guests.

Hiking: the Westerwald is predestined for hiking. Numerous hiking trails connect to the campsite, as well as a dialect hiking trail where locals provide information about the region and sights in the appropriate dialect. More information can be found in the in-house excursion brochure on pages 18-21 (https://www.waeller-camp.de/wp-content/uploads/WAELLER-CAMP_Broschuere-Ausflugsziele_2021-11.pdf)
